1. Summary
Techowire is built as a static website and deliberately avoids advertising trackers. We use a very small number of cookies and browser storage entries, all of which fall into the “strictly necessary” or “functional” categories. We do not set advertising or cross-site behavioural targeting cookies.
2. What cookies and storage we use
| Name / key | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
tw-news-hero | sessionStorage | Remembers that you dismissed the newsletter panel so it does not reappear during the same browsing session. | Until you close the browser tab |
tw-news-side, tw-news-footer | sessionStorage | Interface state for the inline newsletter forms. | Until you close the browser tab |
| Hosting cookies | Cookie | Set by our hosting and CDN provider for security, bot mitigation and load balancing. These are strictly necessary for the site to function. | Session to 30 days, depending on the entry |
3. What we do not use
- No advertising cookies.
- No cross-site tracking pixels.
- No social media tracking buttons embedded from third-party domains.
- No fingerprinting scripts.
- No data brokers or audience-segment resale.
4. Third-party cookies from affiliate links
When you click an outbound commercial link, you leave our site and arrive at the merchant or affiliate network. They may set their own cookies to attribute the referral and to operate their own analytics. Those cookies are set by them, not by us, and are governed by their cookie and privacy policies. If you want to avoid them, do not follow the outbound link — or block third-party cookies in your browser settings.
5. Analytics
At the time of writing this site does not run a third-party analytics product. If we add one, we will choose a privacy-respecting configuration, document it here, and request consent where the law requires it before any non-essential cookie is set.
6. How to control cookies
All major browsers let you view, delete and block cookies, and block third-party cookies specifically. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the site. Browser help pages for the most common browsers:
- Chrome — Settings › Privacy and security › Third-party cookies
- Safari — Settings › Privacy › Manage Website Data
- Firefox — Settings › Privacy & Security › Cookies and Site Data
- Edge — Settings › Cookies and site permissions
You can also clear the sessionStorage entries listed above at any time by closing the browser tab or clearing site data for this domain.
7. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Because we do not run cross-site tracking, there is nothing for a “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” signal to switch off. We respect such signals by default and do not attempt to circumvent them.
8. Changes and contact
We will update this notice whenever our use of cookies or storage changes. Questions: [email protected]. See also our Privacy Policy.
